How to do a single crochet

Single crochet (abbreviated sc) is a one of the basic crochet stitches.

At all crochet schemes single crochet symbol would appear as: X.

At the scheme below you can see a stitches of single crochet.

Single crochet instructions

Insert hook in the last stitch of the previous row under top two loops.

Catch the yarn.

Pull the yarn back through the loop. You should now see two loops of yarn on your hook.

Catch the yarn again and pull it back through the two loops on your hook.

Repeat the process inserting hook in the following stitches of the previous row under top two loops.
